Article 1 (Personal Information Controller)

The personal information controller for the Service is as follows:

Article 2 (Personal Information)

Article 3 (Information Collected)

The Service may collect the following information when users register and use the Service:

2. External service linkage information such as Google accounts (email address, profile image, user ID)
3. Payment information (credit card details are obtained and managed directly by the payment processor; the Service only handles payment tokens and customer IDs)
4. Service usage history, reading history, saved article history, etc.

Article 4 (Purpose of Collection and Use)

The Service collects and uses personal information for the following purposes:

1. To provide and operate the Service
2. To respond to inquiries from users (including identity verification)
3. To send emails about new features, updates, campaigns, and other services offered by the Service
4. To process billing and payments for premium plans
5. To identify and deny service to users who violate the Terms of Service or attempt to use the Service for fraudulent purposes
6. For purposes incidental to the above

Article 5 (Changes to Purpose of Use)

The Service will only change the purpose of use of personal information when the change is reasonably deemed to be related to the original purpose.

When the purpose of use is changed, the Service will notify users or announce the new purpose on this website in the manner specified by the Service.

Article 6 (Disclosure to Third Parties / Outsourcing)

1. The Service will not provide personal information to third parties without the prior consent of the user, except in the following cases and as permitted by the Act on the Protection of Personal Information and other applicable laws:
   • (1) When necessary to protect a person's life, body, or property, and it is difficult to obtain the person's consent
   • (2) When particularly necessary for improving public health or promoting the sound development of children, and it is difficult to obtain the person's consent
   • (3) When necessary to cooperate with a national or local government body in carrying out duties prescribed by law, and obtaining consent may impede such duties
2. Notwithstanding the above, the following parties shall not be considered third parties, and the Service may provide information to the following external services to the extent necessary for providing its functions:
   • (1) Payment processors (Stripe, Inc.) for payment processing
   • (2) External cloud services (Google LLC / Firebase, etc.) for authentication and database management
   • (3) External AI foundation model providers (OpenAI, Inc. / Google LLC, etc.) for AI translation, summarization, and analysis — only de-identified or text-input data is shared
   • (4) Third-party contractors to whom the Service outsources all or part of personal information handling within the scope necessary to achieve the purpose of use

Article 7 (Cross-border Data Transfers)

Due to the use of external services described in the preceding article, users' personal information may be stored or transferred to servers located outside Japan (e.g., the United States). The Service confirms the personal information protection frameworks of such countries and implements appropriate security measures.

Article 8 (Security Measures)

The Service implements appropriate information security measures — including unauthorized access countermeasures and computer virus countermeasures — to prevent leakage, loss, or damage of personal information and to otherwise ensure its safe management. The Service also provides necessary and appropriate supervision of employees and contractors who handle personal information.

Article 9 (Cookies and Analytics Tools)

The Service uses the following tools to improve service quality and protect security, collecting traffic data such as cookies and device information:

1. Google Analytics (access analysis): Traffic data is collected anonymously and does not identify individuals. You can opt out by disabling cookies.
2. Cloudflare Turnstile (bot/spam prevention): Analyzes browser environment to detect bots and prevent unauthorized access. No personally identifiable information is collected.
