Terms of Service
Please read these Terms of Service carefully before using TechLens NEWS.
Article 1 (Application)
- These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern all aspects of the relationship between users and TechLens NEWS ("the Service") related to the use of the Service.
- In addition to these Terms, the Service may establish individual rules and regulations ("Individual Rules"). Such Individual Rules form part of these Terms regardless of their name.
Article 2 (Registration)
- Registration is completed when a prospective user applies for registration by the method specified by the Service (such as Google account linkage) and the Service approves such application.
- The Service may decline a registration application if it determines that any of the following circumstances apply. The Service is under no obligation to disclose the reason for such refusal.
- (1) The applicant provided false information in the registration application.
- (2) The application is from a person who has previously violated these Terms.
- (3) The Service otherwise determines that registration is inappropriate.
Article 3 (Fees and Payment)
- Users who use paid features of the Service (such as the Premium Plan) shall pay the fees separately specified and displayed by the Service.
- Payment shall be processed through payment processors designated by the Service (such as Stripe).
- Subscriptions renew automatically. Users must cancel before the renewal date. No prorated refunds will be issued.
Article 4 (Account Management)
- Users shall manage their account credentials (Google account, etc.) and password at their own responsibility.
- The Service shall not be liable for any damage arising from unauthorized use of a user's credentials by a third party, except in cases of willful misconduct or gross negligence on the part of the Service.
Article 5 (Prohibited Conduct)
Users must not engage in any of the following activities when using the Service:
- Acts that violate laws or public order and morals.
- Acts related to criminal activity.
- Acts that infringe copyrights, trademarks, or other intellectual property rights included in the Service.
- Acts that destroy or interfere with the server or network functions of the Service, other users, or third parties.
- Using bots, crawlers, scraping tools, or similar automated means to collect or obtain information from the Service.
- Acts that may interfere with the operation of the Service.
- Unauthorized access or attempted unauthorized access.
- Impersonating other users.
- Other acts that the Service deems inappropriate.
Article 6 (Disclaimer / AI-Generated Content)
- Translations, summaries, analyses, and insights provided by the Service ("AI-Generated Content") are automatically generated using artificial intelligence. The Service makes no warranty of any kind regarding their accuracy, completeness, usefulness, or timeliness.
- AI-Generated Content may contain mistranslations, factual errors, or inappropriate expressions. Users acknowledge this and use the information at their own risk.
- The Service shall not be liable for the unavailability of any part or all of the Service due to API failures, specification changes, or discontinuation of third-party AI models.
- The Service shall not be liable for any business decisions, investment actions, or results made by users based on information available on the Service, except in cases of willful misconduct or gross negligence on the part of the Service.
- The Service shall not be liable for any transactions, communications, or disputes arising between a user and other users or third parties in connection with the Service, except in cases of willful misconduct or gross negligence on the part of the Service.
Article 7 (Intellectual Property)
- Copyrights in the original text, images, and quoted portions of news articles published on the Service belong to the respective original publishers (The Verge, TechCrunch, Hugging Face, etc.) and their authors. The Service displays these within the scope of fair use for the purpose of functioning as an information-gathering aid.
- Rights to "Global Impact Scores," "AI Insights," unique layouts, and programs originally generated by the Service belong to the Service.
Article 8 (Changes to the Service)
The Service may change or discontinue the content of the Service without notice to users. The Service shall not be liable for any damage caused to users thereby, except in cases of willful misconduct or gross negligence on the part of the Service.
Article 9 (Changes to the Terms)
The Service may amend these Terms when deemed necessary. When amending, the Service will notify users of the effective date and content of the amended Terms by posting on this website or by other appropriate means. Continued use of the Service after any amendment constitutes the user's agreement to the amended Terms.
Article 10 (Governing Law and Jurisdiction)
- These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Japan.
- Any dispute arising in connection with the Service shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the district court having jurisdiction over the location of the Service operator.
